Doo Da Daisy Crochet Afghan Pattern
September 3, 2022

September is here, and with the coming of a new month is a new afghan design.

Introducing the Doo Da Daisy Afghan.

Doo Da Daisy Crochet Afghan Pattern – $4.98.  Click photo above to purchase.

The Doo Da Daisy Afghan is a Mile-a-Minute design and is fun and easy to make. You just crochet the strips, or columns, first. These strips look like individual granny squares that are joined – but they’re not! The strips are continuous rows of the granny stripe stitch with purposeful color placement. This gives the illusion of joined squares, but works up much easier and faster.

Once all the strips are made, you can put them aside and make all the fun little Daisies. We have Whole Daisies that show themselves in all their glory. We have half daisies that play peek-a-boo among the afghan. Then we have quarter daisies, the shy little flower who dares to peek around a corner.

Each column is individually bordered and joined to each other on the last round. Very similar to the Join-As-You-Go (JAYG) method.

But don’t finish off here – keep working the granny stitch and border the entire afghan. I have included instructions for two different Borders. The Plain Border will continue with the granny stitch, and you can work as many rounds as you’d like to frame your afghan. This makes a very nice Border and keeps with the granny theme

The Fancy Border is added after you have completed two rounds of the Plain Border first. Since the carefree, dancing Daisies add a striking floral vibe, I decided that we needed to add some color and whimsy to frame them all. This Border really ties it all together and compliments the daisies very well.

You can purchase this pattern individually, or purchase the eBook which will include all 12 monthly afghan patterns as they are published. Click photo below.

The pattern file for Doo Da Daisy Afghan contains 22 pages, but you don’t need to print them all if you want to save ink. . The pattern photos are on pages 9 – 22, at the end of the file. Here are the specific yarn and amounts that I used.
