Peacock Plumes Afghan – Part 2

Just joining the CAL? Check out these blog posts for previous pattern parts.

This week of the Peacock Plumes Afghan CAL, we will focus on the particular peacock feathers, called the Saddle.

The Saddle is the rear part of the back of the peacock, extending to the tail. These are iridescent feathers that grow in a scale pattern. They usually have a beautiful black accent around the tip of the feather. They are round and slightly oval in shape and extremely beautiful.

Saddle feathers are widely sold to consumers and used for a variety of crafting, such as: hair extensions on humans and pets, jewelry making, arts and crafts, party and wedding decorations, and fly tying. Each raindrop feather is approximately 2 to 4 inches long.
