Spring Cleaning Dishcloth CAL 2019
April 11, 2019
Spring is well under way, and I really need to ask an important question. Have you started your spring cleaning yet? I know, at least for me, that winter gets me so comfortable snuggled up under a nice, warm crocheted blanket, watching Netflix, a nice glass of blackberry wine in one hand and a hook in the other. That’s where I like to be. But now that the sun has come out and warm breezes have blown in, it’s time to shed the blanket and take care of all those abandoned chores from the past few months. Shhh – I really did abandon them. And if I’m going to be truthful, my kitchen actually looks like the one in the image below. I think my kitchen was used as the model.

To help us ALL out in our efforts to get up and get cleaning, I’m hosting another Spring Cleaning Dishcloth CAL this year. I’ve designed 8 brand new dishcloths for you to hook up, and Cascade Yarns is generously donating prizes for some lucky CAL participants. All 8 dishcloth patterns will be available for free here on my blog. I will list all patterns below as they are published, so that all page links are in one convenient spot. A paid version will also be available through Ravelry – just in case you’d like a nice, neat pdf for your Ravelry Library or your own personal files. If purchasing the CAL patterns through Ravelry, you will automatically get notice when each new pattern is published. No need to keep checking here every 10 minutes on pattern day. 🙂

MATERIALS:

YARN: I used Cascade Nifty Cotton, and I have to say – I Love this yarn!  It’s so soft and this line has such a nice variety of colors. I used a total of 5 hanks for all 8 dishcloths – 1 hank in each of the 5 colors shown.

HOOK: I went with an H/5.0mm hook, mainly because my tension isn’t too tight, and I liked the feel of the resulting fabric. You can certainly experiment with your yarn and hook size in order to get the fabric density you desire for each cloth. Personally, I prefer my cloths to be just a smidgeon floppy.

PRIZES:

Cascade Yarns has generously donated prizes for the CAL – the YARN kind. I will also be giving away FREE copies of the official Spring Cleaning Dishcloth CAL 2019 eBook (which contains all 8 patterns) as well as FREE money coupon codes to my Ravelry Store. In order to be eligible for a prize, you must participate in the CAL. Prize details will be given during the course of the CAL.
