ADVENT SCARF 2020
For this year’s Advent Scarf, you will have some choices. Due to some real life events, I just haven’t had time to create a brand new scarf pattern. I don’t want to disappoint, as many of you have been asking about it. I really love presenting the Advent Scarf every year, and it warms my heart to see how you all enjoy it, too.Â
If you haven’t participated in any of my previous Advent Scarf CALs, take a look here:
Since I can’t create a brand new design this year, I’ve chosen some of my favorite stitch patterns from previous scarves and put them all together to create a new version.
Presenting the ADVENT SCARF FUSION 2020Â
CAL runs December 1 – 24.
The Advent Scarf Fusion 2020 will be presented as follows:
1. I have chosen some of my favorite stitch patterns from the past Advent Scarves to piece together for a brand new scarf. Photos of each will be included.
2. I will not have a completed sample scarf to show you at the end, so this will be somewhat of a mystery in the making.
3. Each day’s stitch pattern will be posted right here on my blog for FREE!
4. I will not have a Ravelry PDF version of the pattern. The only available version is on my blog.
5. Use any yarn of your choice – Sport Weight or DK is preferred.
6. Use a size 5.5 mm (I) hook, or appropriate size for your yarn.
CAL runs December 1 – 24.
STITCH DEFINITIONS
Each day’s pattern is to be treated as unique, with its own stitch definitions listed. For instance – a Shell on one day may not be the same as a Shell on another day. Be sure to read the Special Stitches section for each day.

With apologies from an ignorant Aussie – what constitutes an Advent scarf ?
How would you describe one ?
An Advent Scarf is worked during the Advent Season. Each day of Advent, you work a different stitch pattern that is added on to the previous stitch pattern. By December 24th you will have completed a lovely scarf to wear on Christmas Day. I usually have devotions for each day to accompany the crochet, but I didn't have time to organize this year. 🙂
Would it be ok to use Advent kit miniskeins for your scarf? Thank you.
Sure. I just recommend yarn that will block nicely.
How many colours do we need?
As many as you'd like. Some use just one color, or gradients, or self-striping, or various colors. Entirely your choice. You might want to look at scarves from previous years (on Ravelry), for inspiration.
Thank you
Thank you
I'm looking for the 1st days of stitches after the base row??
I've made a separate page that lists all links to each day. Click on the TAB at the top that says, "Advent Scarf Fusion 2020." This should make it easier to navigate. 🙂
Hello First of all : thanks for the free pattern !!! I just have a question : do we buy it on Ravelry ? The code is not working. Can somebody help me please with that ? TIA and Happy Holidays !!! 🎄😊🎄😊
Right now the pattern is only available on my blog for free. You can click on the tab that says "Advent Scarf Fusion 2020" to access links to all the patterns. Sometime after Christmas, I will make it available on Ravelry as one PDF.
