Swan Lace Afghan, the June addition to the 2022 Crochet Calendarghan
I love spending a breezy summer day at the park, feeding the ducks and squirrels – and if I’m lucky, I’ll see a few swans. Swans are such beautiful, elegant creatures. It’s only fitting that I create them in yarn.
This crochet pattern can be purchased individually for $4.98 in my Ravelry Store.
You can also purchase it as part of the 2022 CalendarGhan eBook for $24. The eBook contains all 12 afghan patterns as they are published during the year of 2022. You can find the eBook in my Ravelry Store.
Here are some “in progress” photos to show you a little bit of the process. I really loved making the pineapples. They are lacey and beautiful and make such elegant swans.
There are two sizes of pineapples. This will give the illusion of depth to your swans. One swan is farther out in the water, and the other is closer to you. The positioning of the circles, as well as the shades of color adds to the illusion. Isn’t this fantastic???
Once you have all of your components put together, then it’s time to add a fancy border. Of course, the swans deserve nothing less than something elegant. So we’ll take the time and work up something to really be proud of. A majestic picot border, dancing around our swan lace. Don’t you just love the play on words? I do!
I hope you enjoy this Swan Lace Afghan pattern. I know I say this quite often – but this has got to be one of my MOST favorite designs I’ve ever created. I just LOVE it!
