Here is  square #3 from the Sensational Sampler, a free crochet baby blanket. Use an H hook and block to 8″. I then worked a dc border in ecru around the block to make it 9″.

With Color C ch 28.

Row 1 (RS): Skip 3 ch (count as 1 dc), 1 dc into each of next 4 dc, *skip 2 ch, 5 dc into next ch, ch 2, skip 3 ch, 1 dc into each of next 5 ch; rep from * to end, turn.

Row 2: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), skip first st, 1 dc into each of next 4 sts, *skip ch-2, 5 dc into next dc, ch 2, skip 4 dc, 1 dc into each of next 5 sts; rep from * to end, turn.

Rows: 3 – 13: Rep Row 2. After Row 13, finish off, weave in ends, block.
