Cranberry Delight Afghan Square
November 1, 2020

November brings thoughts of family gatherings, good food, and good fun. Who can resist a tasty turkey dinner with all the trimmings? To get you in the holiday spirit, I’ve designed a new afghan square. This beautiful, luxuriously textured square will get your taste buds tingling. Designed especially for the Block-a-Month Crochet-a-Long (BAMCAL) Ravelry group.

The pattern is free, right here on my blog. If you’d like a nice ad-free pdf for your Ravelry Library, you can purchase it for a small fee of $2.98. Click the photo below to purchase the pattern. I’ll also be sharing some of my top picks for the Holidays using the cranberry theme. Hope you like them!

For this pattern I used Caron Simply Soft Solids, but you can use any yarn of your choosing. Here are some great places to obtain quality yarn so you can create a beautiful piece of art.

One of my favorite Holiday decorating staples, is the SCENTS!!  My house must smell like Christmas. Whether it’s baking some gingerbread cookies, those wonderful cinnamon scented pinecones you can find in the stores, or even bathroom sprays – I’ve gotta have the scents. I also love candles. Not only do they smell so good, but they really set the mood and create a warm, glowing ambiance for your Holiday entertaining, or just a nice quiet evening at home. Click on the photo and look at all the options. I can’t resist!

    Hi Melinda !
I'd like to know the measures of 1 square and the yarn I will need each colour for 1 square : I'd like to realize a baby blanket 5 x 4 squared big…….thanks from ITALY !!

  6. Melinda

Hi Lucy – Each square measures 12 inches by 12 inches. I don't have exact amounts for each yarn color, but here's an estimate. Color A – approx 31 yards, Color B – approx 35 yards, Color C – approx 40 yards.
